The Point Breeze Jazz Ensemble is an outstanding jazz band that performs jazz standards for events across the region. The purpose of the ensemble is to expose and educate the community on jazz music as well as keep the tradition of jazz music and culture alive. The ensemble has performed for such noteworthy events as the grand opening of the John F. Street Community Center and the National Black Caucus.
Currently, the ensemble features legendary jazz saxophonist Sam Reed, former band leader for Philadelphia native son Teddy Pendergrass and Philadelphia International Records as well as house bandleader for the Uptown Theater. The Point Jazz Ensemble can be seen at IKEA Conshohocken on Wednesday evenings featuring the Budesa Brothers and IKEA Philadelphia on Thursday evenings featuring Sam Reed.
