Philly MOVES
The Philly MOVES After School Programs provide quality educational experiences five days per week for children and youth ages 6-18. Traditional education (tutoring and enrichment activities), as well as arts education, life skills activities, community service and service learning are all components of the program. Daily activities include homework assistance, various dance disciplines, theater, gymnastics, karate and art. Special trips, workshops, projects and speakers are planned regularly. The After School Programs are a part of Mayor John F. Street ’s Children’s Investment Strategy.

After School Program sites include:

Philadelphia Housing Authority Sites, a partnership with The Philadelphia Housing Authority, Tenant Support Services Inc. and the resident Tenant Councils of each site. Johnson Homes
Mantua Hall
Grays Ferry Estates (formerly Tasker Homes)
Stephen Girard Elementary School- a partnership with the School District of Philadelphia and Stephen Girard Elementary School

Philly MOVES Arts Residencies

The Philly MOVES Arts Residency Program brings arts-based programs to Philadelphia public schools and community-based organizations that lack arts courses and qualified arts specialists, but want quality arts programming for their students and participants. In schools, Dance and Theater instruction is incorporated with the School District of Philadelphia's Curriculum Frameworks and Academic Objectives to create a program that uses the arts to enhance academic comprehension and achievement, increase students' ability to problem solve and encourages college and career exploration.
